Albert Barqué-Duran (Albert.DATA) is an artist and cognitive scientist who treats cognition as an artistic medium. Through installations, performances and computational systems, his practice investigates how perception, creativity and agency are transformed when human cognition becomes entangled with machine intelligence and emerging technologies. He is Principal Investigator at IASlab (Interactive Arts & Science Lab), La Salle Barcelona – Universitat Ramon Llull, and has held research appointments at City St George’s, University of London, Harvard University and the University of Oxford. His work has been presented internationally at institutions and venues including Ars Electronica, ZKM, Sónar+D, MUTEK, SIGGRAPH and NeurIPS, and has received distinctions including the 2026 'Runway Grand Prize in New Media' and 'Premio El Ojo Crítico' for Digital Innovation in the Cultural Field.
